Individual objects are pictured with their distinguishing features and, consequently, are easily distinguishable. On the other hand, distances do not always correspond to the reality, now and then the landscape can be slightly reduced or distorted since the emphasis is placed on the representation of objects. The named type of maps enjoys high popularity due to their nice looks, self-descriptiveness and easiness in use. Despite scale distortions they are great for navigating while planning an excursion or seeking a certain place.
