It can be an awesome yet time consuming hobby to try to collect presidential autographs such as President Obama's signed books. Sometimes it may take years in order to gather a good sized collection. Hidden gems are sometimes an easy catch on the auction sites as long as you obtain the proper verification form PSA DNA or JSA. Also be sure to obtain a certificate of authenticity (COA). In general, the Internet can be a very useful tool in tracking down the signatures that you wish to find.

You can also take conventional means and hunt down other collectors that may have something they are willing to sell. Antique sales are another option to consider. Be creative and look for opportunity to find signatures everywhere. You might be surprised by some of the places you will find them.

Be sure that when you do find a signature that you go through a verification. You should carry out verification yourself to be sure it is real. A seller might not be truthful if it means missing a sale. You can find great verification services online or in the phone book, a good thing would be to try some of the ones mentioned earlier. They are professionals who will make sure that you get fair value for your money.
