So, when you buy a parrot, you could have it for the rest of your life. Socialization is essential in maintaining a high quality of life for parrots. A parrot’s cage should be placed in an area inside the house where the families can easily interact with the bird and spend a lot of their time with it. The kitchen is not an ideal spot for the cage because of toxic chemicals while cooking and other dangers and risks.

Bear in mind that parrots are often quite messy and noisy animals, especially if you teach them how to talk. They sometimes scream at particular times of the day, usually in the wee hours of the morning, seriously disturbing those who want to relax and unwind after a long day’s work.

Grooming is very important in parrot care. Parrots need a decent amount of grooming throughout their entire lives. Their nails and beaks continue to grow. You can clip their nails every three to four weeks, to ensure that their overgrown nails do not get caught on perches or toys. Your pet’s wings can also be clipped every few weeks to prevent flight. In the wild, parrots take rain showers to maintain the good condition of their feathers. You can bathe or mist your parrots daily with clean, fresh water using a water bottle.

As pets, parrots are playful, affectionate, and super smart. Their owners must understand the extreme importance of their needs and how to meet each one. With proper care parrots will survive in a home environment.

Parrots usually go to sleep around dusk, and wake up at dawn. In the wild, they fulfill their daily needs for about twelve hours. But, in the house, they suffer from severe sleep deprivation and disturbances, because of their owner’s normal daily activities. Because of lack of sleep, parrots can be quite cranky and even aggressive, to demonstrate their accumulated frustration.

So you have to learn the techniques and proper husbandry from experienced owners to enable you to have a happy relationship with your parrot, without a lot of stress. Take care of your pet, talk to it, and live a happy life!.
