Why Not Add The Bonsai Miniature Rose Tree To Your Collection? - By: Lee Dobbins

The Bonsai miniature rose tree is attracting enthusiasts with its beauty. Roses are extremely beautiful when in full bloom and despite looking so delicate ,they are quite strong. They are not so difficult to handle as one might presume. Bonsai miniature rose plants grow to a height of 5 inches ,or a little more, but the amount of pleasure they provide you with their beauty ,compensates for all the effort made.

Growing miniature roses inside requires particular awareness of their environment. Sun from windows alone may not provide enough light. Close examination of the stems will tell if your Bonsai miniature roses are receiving proper light. More light will be required if the gaps between the leaves are too large.

As with many flowers, these roses require a great deal of moisture when they're kept indoors. To provide humidity simply place the container of miniature roses in a bowl or a tray of pebbles and water. The small stones will keep the container above the water level which will prevent the soil from becoming soggy or waterlogged. When it slowly evaporates the water will provide the roses with extra humidity. However, if the house is really dry the owner can occasionally use a mist vaporizer.

Indoors or outdoors, the Bonsai miniature rose is vulnerable to pests. Indoor roses attract whiteflies and spider mites. By washing the tops and undersides of all the leaves, the tree owner can reduce or even eliminate the possibility of attacks by pests. With whiteflies however, it is best to use pest insecticide soap at a minimum of once per week. These insecticides contain alcohol so it is best to keep the miniature roses away from the light until the alcohol on the Bonsai miniature roses has sufficiently evaporated.

When your roses have been attacked by pests and you have other plants, it is in your best interest to keep them separated, so the other plants do not suffer the same fate. If it was a serious enough attack, the plant can be cut back. It can re-grow and possibly have a fuller appearance than before. Attractive rose blooms can be attained by using a high potassium fertilizer. Mix the fertilizer and water in a 1:4 ratio and use it at least weekly.

Many individuals keep their Bonsai miniature rose plants indoors for a season and then set them outside. This is a good idea on occasion due to the pests that prey on them. However if they are placed outdoors without being removed from the containers they will quickly become dehydrated. Bonsai miniature roses can be planted into a garden as well.

This variety of rose is new to the indoor gardening world, but is gaining in popularity. People are quick to realize how simple they are to care for. Bonsai miniature rose plants are attractive to look at and have blooms that produce a pleasant aroma.
