You should know that ancient gold coins do not need to be very expensive to be great additions to your collection. While many old gold coins are very expensive, others are more reasonably priced. As with other collectibles, the value of gold coins is determined by supply and demand. If there are lots more collectors who want to purchase a coin, it will be more valuable. If there are very few of a particular coin, this lack of supply will create scarcity which increases the price of the coins.
