Among coin collectors, the mini Krugerrand is rapidly gaining in popularity. The U.S. Treasury entered the international gold sales competition (against such coins as the South African Krugerrand) by minting its own one-ounce and half-ounce gold medallion-shaped ingots, but none are as popular as the Krugerrand.
