Antique 9ct gold signet ring with a personal story. Given to my grandfather in 1942 in his hometown Mannheim (Germany), engraved with his initials, "RF."
The ring carries full British hallmarks from the Birmingham Assay Office (anchor mark), a 375 fineness stamp confirming solid 9ct gold, and a sponsor's mark reading "S·B." The date letter is consistent with Birmingham's 1915 cycle, matching the family history — though with a worn, decades-old punch, this is our best reading rather than a certified assay.
Shows light wear consistent with its age; engraving and hallmarks remain clearly legible (see photos).
A great find for collectors of antique British gold jewelry, or anyone drawn to a piece with real, documented family history.
Size 8 (18.1mm), 3.35g. Located in Los Angeles, ships nationwide via UPS.
Serious inquiries welcome — happy to answer questions or share more photos of the hallmarks.
