Antique Carl Kauba Dual-Patinated Bronze Native American on a Canoe Sculpture For Sale

A dual-patinated bronze figure of a Native American on a canoe, inscribed by Austrian sculptor Carl Kauba (1865-1922). Kauba is renown for his depiction of the American West and mastery of the cold-painted bronze technique, popular in Vienna beginning in the mid 19th century to the 1920s, in which bronze sculptures were decorated with many layers of unfired enamel or "dust" paint applied after the bronze casting process. The labor-intensive, intricate process created finely detailed and vibrant finishes, making them highly sought after pieces. 10" wide x 2" deep x 6" high.
