Up for sale is a beautiful, authentic antique Early American Pattern Glass (EAPG) finger oil lamp (also known as a hand lamp), dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. This classic piece of Americana lighting history features a clear pressed-glass font, an applied finger loop handle for easy carrying, and a sturdy flared pedestal base.
The lamp comes equipped with its original, vintage brass burner assembly. The thumbwheel dial is explicitly stamped: "EAGLE" / "MADE IN USA", confirming it was manufactured by the renowned Plume & Atwood Manufacturing Co. (P&A).
Condition:
• Authentic, Uncleaned Antique Condition: This lamp has been left exactly "as found" to preserve its historical integrity and natural patina. The font still contains character-rich, dark vintage oil/fuel residue from decades past, which collectors highly desire.
• Glass: The clear glass body is structurally sound. There are no major chips or cracks on the main body or the handle. (Please review photos closely for minor manufacturing straw marks/bubbles typical of EAPG period glassware).
• Burner Assembly: The brass burner has a wonderful aged patina. The thumbwheel adjustment mechanism turns cleanly.
• Note: This listing is for the glass lamp base and brass burner assembly only. A glass chimney is not included.
Approximate Measurements:
• Height (to top of burner): 9 inches
• Base Diameter: 5-1/8 inches
