This is an antique Rubicon Company of Philadelphia specific gravity bridge instrument. It is a precision electrical measuring instrument made by the Rubicon Company - a manufacturer known for high quality potentiometers, galvanometers, and Wheatstone bridge instruments used in laboratory, industrial, and military applications from the 1920s - 1940s (later absorbed into Honeywell).

This model is a resistance-bridge type specific gravity indicator, designed to remotely read the specific gravity of a liquid via a (missing) external sensor/probe connected through the rear socket.
