To make this even more rare , this copy was specifically given by RS Yeoman and Whitman Publishing to Dorothy Gershenson for her to make notes, additions, edits, etc. This copy is signed by Dorothy Gershenson. Signature is in bright, great, condition. Readable and shows exceptionally well. This pre-retail printing of the popular numismatic reference book was distributed to known and trusted numismatic experts, like Dorothy, for their insights and to contribute their thoughts and edits through notations on the blank pages. Very few of these were even produced for each year but all were given out and usually marked-up with notations, then given back to Whitman Publishing. Adding to this books rarity is the fact that there are NO markings or writings of any kind on its blank pages. This is an exceedingly rare Red Books Coin Guide variant!

Summary: Each year these printed copies of this Red Book variant were distributed to the books contributors and editors and quickly returned to Whitman Publishing. Survivors like this are unbelievably rare and rarely offered for sale. These were printed before “working copies” were printed and given out to editors to make final changes. This item was the very first printing of any kind for each edition of the Red Book. Only given to the most trusted contributors, selected by R.S. Yeoman himself. Most of those copies were returned to publisher and edits entered in to make ready for final copy printing.
