Circa: 1920This incredibly beautiful Chinese art deco rug is full of whimsical folly as butterfly’s are depicted exploring an open botanical field. There are ancient symbols of luck and prosperity woven into the rug and even a vase with potted flowers in once corner. The rare purple color gives the piece a powerful presence even with its small size. This antique work of art was made using all natural vegetable dyes and soft hand spun wool by skilled weavers in mainland China over 100 years ago. The piece is in fantastic condition with both ends and sides in original condition.
