Offered here is an impressive oversized version of one of M.I. Hummel's classic designs, “Little Fiddler.” This charming figurine depicts a young boy playing his violin while wearing his distinctive hat, with an umbrella carried over his shoulder.

At approximately 13 inches tall, this is the substantially larger HUM 2/III version rather than the much more commonly encountered smaller Little Fiddler figurines. Its large scale beautifully showcases the sculpting, hand-painted facial features, clothing and intricate details of the violin, bow and umbrella.

“Little Fiddler” is based on the artwork of Sister Maria Innocentia Hummel and was modeled for Goebel by sculptor Arthur Moeller. The design carries the HUM 2 designation and became one of the recognizable early subjects in the M.I. Hummel collection.

This example bears the M.I. Hummel signature, factory marking and impressed 2/III mold designation on the Hummel “Little Fiddler”
