US NAVAL AVIATOR’S FLYING SCARF 6 FEET For Sale

This is a high-quality current reproduction of the classic U.S. NavyAviator’s Flying Scarf, one of the most recognizable pieces of early NavalAviation flight gear. Patterned after the scarves issued to U.S. Naval Aviatorsduring the pre-war years and the early stages of World War II, this handsomeaccessory captures the look and feel of the originals worn by Navy pilots inopen-cockpit aircraft.

Constructed from a comfortable rayon and silk blend, the scarf measures animpressive 6 feet in length and approximately 1 foot in width, providing ampleprotection from wind and cold while maintaining the authentic drape andappearance of the wartime originals. Each end is correctly marked with thedistinctive "U.S.N." designation, just as found onperiod examples.

Flying scarves served an important purpose for aviators operating inopen-cockpit aircraft. In addition to providing warmth, the smooth materialhelped prevent chafing and irritation around the neck caused by constantmovement while scanning the skies. The scarf remained a standard issue item forNaval Aviators until late 1942, when advances in enclosed cockpit aircraft andimproved flight clothing gradually made them less necessary.

This example is in new, unused condition and is ready forwear, display, reenacting, or to complement any Naval Aviation collection. Itpairs perfectly with early Navy flight helmets, goggles, and leather flightjackets, making it an outstanding addition to any pre-war or WWII aviationimpression.

A beautiful reproduction of a classic piece of U.S. Naval Aviation history.Difficult to improve upon for authenticity and appearance. Top-notchoffering. Satisfaction guaranteed.
