Vintage matching/companion lot of four S.P. Gerz German stoneware beer steins. Each features detailed raised relief decoration with traditional German scenes, sayings and floral/edelweiss accents.
Each stein is approximately 0.5 liter capacity and approximately 9 inches tall to the top of the lid. All four have hinged metal/pewter-style lids and S.P. Gerz/Gerz factory markings on the bases.
Two molded design numbers have been identified near the handles: 93 and 94. The remaining examples are from the same coordinated Gerz style/series, but their molded numbers are either difficult to read or not visible.
German inscriptions represented in the lot include sayings such as “Froh beim Bier, das lieben wir,” “Ein kühler Trunk gibt alten Schwung,” and other traditional German drinking/tavern sayings shown in the photographs.
Sold as the complete lot of 4 shown. Please review all photos carefully for exact condition, decoration and markings. Vintage pieces may show normal age-related wear and variations in the hand-applied decoration.
