  • Comic Books - The Superman Saga
Superman started off as a comic hero. The character was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster in 1933. Jerry Siegel was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1914 and was a big fan of science fiction. Shuster, who was born in 1914 in Toronto, Canada, moved to Cleveland where he met Siegel in school. The two became friends almost immediately and with similar interests, created the first Superman comic.

The earliest civilisations of China, Egypt, Greece and Rome made bronze coins and statues, ad bronze was later used to cast bells and cannon - the original Victoria Crosses were made from bronze of Russia cannon captured in the Crimean War. It finally became extremely popular with British and Indian craftsmen in Victorian times for casting small statuettes and art objects.
  • Antique Gun And Powder Flask Repairs
In good condition, these guns are valuable antique collectors' pieces. Others that require a bit of work can often be cleaned and restored by amateurs. Cast-metal parts or wooden blanks, which can be shaped to replace damaged or missing stocks, can be obtained from specialist suppliers. Even old gunpowder explodes, so be sure that any gun being repaired is not loaded.
  • Antique Copper And Brass Care
Copper and brass (which is an alloy of copper and zinc) need constant cleaning, but modern long-term polishes and lacquers have made the task of cleaning and maintaining your antique collection so much easier.
  • Antique China Repairs
Valuable antique pottery - such as Meissen, Sèvres and Chelsea (which date from the 18th century) - is too rare and delicate to be restored by anyone other than an expert. However, many other pieces of antique china, which probably have more charm than value, can be restored by anyone prepared to take the time.
